Create Tables

An Table represents a coherent policy specification within the context of its containing Schema. Tables can have contained subordinate Tables. This enables the specification of SubTyping where the root Table is the super type. The subordinate Tables can also represent a contains multiple sets of data such as Addresses, or Education within the overall Table Persons. The process to creating Tables includes:

  • Start the Implemented Database Model Metabase System Module
  • Select the DBMS
  • Enter User Name and Password
  • Select the Menu Item, Schema and Tables, then the subordinate menu item, Table
  • Select a Schema
  • Press the Insert button
  • If the Table is to be a root Table, select "Hierachy" and
    • Press the Insert Button
    • Enter the Name, Local Definition, and Description of the Table
    • Press the Reset button
    • Press the AutoDef button to generate the definition
  • If the Table is to be a subordinate Table, select the containing Table and
    • Press the Insert Button
    • Enter the Name, Local Definition, and Description of the Table
    • Press the Reset button
    • Press the AutoDef button to generate the definition
