Create DBMS Schema

A DBMS Schema is a named and described context for a collection of DBMS Tables and DBMS Columns that contribute to the overall database data domain.

Operational Database Model relationships (built through primary and foreign keys) cannot span DBMS Schemas. The process to create DBMS Schemas includes:

  • Start the Operational Database Model Metabase System Module
  • Select the DBMS
  • Enter User Name and Password
  • Select the Menu Item, DBMS Schemas & DBMS Tables and then the subordinate menu item, DBMS Schema
  • Press the Insert button
  • Enter a name as appropriate
  • Enter a description of the DBMS Schema
