Create Database

An Operational Database Model is the basis for generating SQL DDL that, once compiled by a DBMS and is deployed on a server becomes the database for holding real enterprise data. An Operational Database Model must also exist within the scope of a database. The process to create a database includes:
  • Start the Operational Database Model Metabase System Module
  • Select the DBMS
  • Enter User Name and Password
  • Select the Menu Item, Reference Data, then the subordinate item, Database Information, and then Databases
  • Press Insert
  • Select the Database's characteristics:
    • Database Architecture Class (or create one if necessary)
    • Production Status (or create one if necessary)
    • Nature (or create one if necessary)
  • Enter a description of the database.
