Create Compound Data Element Structures

A Compound Data Element Structure a collection of Compound Data Elements in which one Compound Data Element is the containing Compound data element and the others are the contained Compound Data Elements. The process to accomplish data element creation include:

• Start the Data Element Metabase System Module
• Select the DBMS
• Enter User Name and Password
• Select the menu item, Data Elements, then the subordinate menu item Compound Data Elements then the subordinate menu item, Compound Data Element Structure
• Select the Compound Data Element Structure Type
• If this is a new Compound Data Element Structure, highlight "Hierarchy"
• Press the Insert button
• Select the Compound Data Element that is to be the containing Compound Data Element
• Once the update is complete, highlight the containing Compound Data Element and press Insert
• Select the Compound Data Element that is to be the contained Compound Data Element
• Repeat the last two steps until the Compound Data Element Structure is Complete.
• Arrange the correct sequence of the Data Elements within the Compound Data Element via the Up and Down buttons
