Metabase Software notes on legacy Windows OS:

The latest Whitemarsh Software System client applications have been tested with Windows 2000 Pro & Server, XP Pro, and Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition.

Windows 95/98 is not capable of supporting multiple concurrent databases when running the Mimer DBMS due to the OS’s lack of true service support. So, while the Metabase Software System client will run from these legacy operating systems (assuming 32bit ODBC drivers have been installed), the Mimer DBMS server will need to reside on a more contemporary OS to host the Whitemarsh Metabase Software System.

The Metabase Software requires at minimum two running databases. One or more database instances to control your dataset(s), and another to house system tables, manage users and store security information.
